About the Hong Kong Heritage

The Hong Kong Heritage is a UK-registered non-profit making organization focusing on leveraging on preserving and building on what we see as the six following heritages of Hong
Kong:

  1. A city where the East meets the West and has been developing through blending the ideas, values and practices from both the East and the West

  2. A city where a political economy model along the lines of thoughts of Adam Smith has been once tried which allows Hong Kong to justifiably claim itself as the first Adam Smith city in the world and as such, could have constructive roles to play in terms of fostering the development of more Adam Smith cities in the world and deepening the world’s understanding of the ideas and thoughts of Adam Smith

  3.  A city which seems to have been able to “Create Virtues out of Necessity” in that in the course of the city’s struggle to survive under challenging environment, the city seems to have invented quite many rather different ways of doing things and it looks that these anomalies or innovations in Hong Kong might well offer some inspirations and reference value to the international community and that it is worthwhile to be mindful of the Hong Kong experiences.

  4. A city which has a long history of being able to develop its own ways to work with China and Pan-Asia and as such, it might well continue to have constructive roles to play in this regard.

  5. A city which historically has a long history of being able to develop its own ways to work with the rest of the world and as such, it might well continue to have constructive roles to play in this regard.

  6.  A city which has seen the scale and depth of its capital markets having significantly expanded since the early 2000s which shall enable it to have constructive roles to play in terms of serving corporates and investors from Pan-Asia and the rest of the world.
